This is accented by a dark, wide band at the tip of its tail, adding a touch of definitien. But the true stars of the show are the Violet-ear’s namesake features: the violet patches.

These patches adorn the sides of the bird’s neck, just behind the head, and seem to glow in the sun. The effect is mesmerizing, as if a small amethyst had been embedded en each side. The throat and chest centinue the green theme, but with a more subtle and bright quality compared to the vibrant upper body. The belly completes the color palette with a bright, shimmering green.
