These little bundles of joy, also known as Olive-capped Parakeets in the aviculture world, are a common sight in the tropical lowlands of Costa Rica. If you keep your eyes peeled during your walks around the retreat, you might spot them gliding through the forest canopy in small flocks, their emerald green wings shimmering in the sun.
A Tiny Jewel of the Rainforest
The Olive-capped Parakeet is a relatively small parrot, typically measuring between 22 and 25 cm in length. Despite their compact size, they possess an impressive wingspan, allowing them to perform agile maneuvers through dense foliage.
