The Pacific Screech-Owl, with its scientific name Megascops cooperi, might be compact, but it packs a punch in the personality department. This medium-sized owl, reaching just 9-10 inches in length, boasts prominent ear tufts that stand tall on its head. Don’t be fooled by its cuteness – those bright yellow eyes hold a keen focus, perfectly adapted for hunting under the cloak of darkness.

While you might be familiar with the classic hooting of owls, the Pacific Screech-Owl has a different vocal repertoire.
